•HOW TO CLEAN SILK CLOTH•
1. Determine if the color will fade or run. Spot test the silk fabric by blotting a water-moistened cotton ball
on a hidden point in the garment, such as an inside seam. If the color does not fade or come off onto the
cotton ball, the garment is safe to hand wash
2. Wet a clean sponge with cool water diluted slightly with white vinegar. Blot the stain until it fades.
3.Pour lukewarm water into a wash basin. Add 1 tsp. (5 ml) mild detergent or shampoo to the water
4.Immerse it completely. Soak the item for up to 5 minutes.
5.Gently move the silk fabric around in the soapy water
6.Rinse the silk garment in a vinegar solution. White vinegar removes soap, restores shine and softens silk.
7.Rinse the item in cold water.
8.Take the item out of the water. Roll it up in a fluffy towel. Press the towel against the garment as you
roll it.Lay the silk item flat to dry.
